Engine number („an alphabetic reference of the engine« and "serial number") is near a damper of krutilny fluctuations on the block of cylinders (fig. 1.5) .
Number of the engine consists as much as possible of nine signs (alphanumeric). The first part (at most 3 letters) represents «an alphabetic reference of the engine», and the second part (six-place) – "serial number". After release over 999 999 engines with an identical alphabetic reference the first of six positions of figures is replaced with a letter.
In addition the sticker is put on an inlet collector with «an alphabetic reference of the engine» and «serial number of the engine».
The alphabetic reference of the engine is also in addition specified on the factory plate with identification data of the car.

Engine number („an alphabetic reference of the engine« and "serial number") is on the block of cylinders, under a head of the block of the second row of cylinders (fig. 1.6) .

Counting of cylinders is conducted on the right side in the movement A direction (the first row of cylinders) in relation to the party where the engine incorporates to a transmission of C. On each party of the engine calculation is carried out one after another (fig. 1.7) .
